Weekend treats, sorted
Chef Kelvin Cheung has many feathers in his culinary cap – the ever-famous, ever-loved Jun’s, it’s Time Out Market sibling Little Jun’s, Liu by Jun’s, which you can have from the comfort of your home, and most recently Jooksing, his own take on the glorious institution that is the American Chinese takeout, homed in Neighbourhood Food Halls and cooking up fast and easy storm.

Now, a new name has been added to the mix – 852 Bakery, a pop-up concept giving the familiar flavours of Jun’s a refreshing twist through the medium of freshly-baked goods. While located inside the restaurant, the experience at the pop-up will be a little different than that of Jun’s, more warm and neighbourhood style – like a loaf of fresh bread or a weekend morning breakfast treat.
The bakery will be open every Friday through Sunday inside Jun’s from 12pm to 6pm, offering Hong Kong-inspired classics, inventive bagel sandwiches, sweet pastries and freshly baked breads – a mix of comfort classics and creative surprises.

Why 852?
The name 852 Bakery holds special meaning – each number represents a story connected to Chef Kelvin himself, who grew up across multiple countries with Hong Kong playing a large role in shaping his palate: eight represents prosperity and good fortune, five symbolises the five senses engaged through his food, and two reflects the dual heritage of his signature third-culture cooking, where traditional Chinese roots fuse with modern, international influences.

The Menu
Think cosy, comforting and warm – that is the menu at 852 Bakery. For savouries, choose from a selection of unique bagel sandwiches, including the Egg Sheeran with a spiced masala omelette, the Char Siuprise with barbecue short rib, and a gluten-free Jambon et Fromage sandwich.
There is also a variety of sweet Hong Kong favourites to choose from, such as the Classic Pineapple Bun, Classic Cinnamon Roll, and a selection of drinks like Hong Kong milk tea, and matcha and hojijcha based beverages. Bread by the loaf, including rustic sourdough and a gluten-free baguette, are also available to take home, but as the Dubai winter sets in, the space’s patio is the place to enjoy your meal.
