Now serving in Mirdif
You may know Chef Ali Yazdi from SLAW. He’s a famous face in local circles, most popularly known for bringing incredible, award-winning homegrown burgers to Dubai and beyond.
Fowli is the Emirati chef’s brand new venture, and it’s marking a new chapter in the world of fast-casual dining, made from 100 per cent fresh, antibiotic-free, hormone-free, skinless local chicken with a choice of four different varieties – simple, unfussy and flavour-focused.
Yazdi first broke out on the scene with SLAW, which he founded in 2021. After conquering handheld sandwiches, he moved on from the brand in 2022 to explore new ground and a new challenge – a different kind of speedy, handheld, icon, notorious for being difficult to get right with how saturated the options are.
Fowli is located in Mirdif – a compact joint typical of most fast casual spots, splashed in bright red and featuring just a few indoor seats and a handful of outdoor seats. Aside from the wings, strips and other usual suspects, a specialty has emerged from the menu – a whole or half chicken, battered and deep fried, dusted with the house spice, and demolished with the house sauce and special homemade gravy.
You can choose from four different flavours or levels of heat: original, lemon pepper, mild and Nashville, as well as sides like crinkle-cut fries, toast, mac and cheese, mashed potato, gravy and more for the complete comfort classic meal, made in Dubai, for Dubai.
