Neha Mishra’s Tezukuri is Now Open

After much anticipation

One of the most highly anticipated openings has arrived. After months of excitement in the foodie community of Dubai, Tezukuri by Neha Mishra opens to the public today, bringing a brand new chapter of handcrafted Japanese dining to the city. The modern temaki and listening bar is brought to you by Chef Neha Mishra of Kinoya fame and Panchali Mahendra of Atelier House Hospitality – two culinary powerhouses coming together for one huge opening.

The word ‘tezukuri’ stands for handmade, celebrating craftsmanship, intimacy, and precision, where food, drink, and design come together in perfect harmony. The heart of the experience, the temaki roll, came about on a whim, at Mishra’s birthday last year, where a spread of DIY temaki rolls sparked inspiration between the pair. Today, they’ve turned that spark into a full-fledged concept dedicated to all things temaki.

The concept is marked by counter culture – rolls are prepared to order, shaped by hand and served directly at the counter, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the authenticity of the dining experience, the intimacy of exclusivity and the freshness of the flavours. Light, shadow and rhythm come together in a flow and the counter becomes a stage.

“Temaki is deceptively simple,” says Chef Neha Mishra. “It demands absolute precision, the right temperature of rice, the texture of the nori, the balance of flavour. The moment it is passed to the guest, everything must be in harmony. That is what makes it so powerful, it is alive for just a few seconds.”

“Tezukuri is not just about food; it is about energy and intent. It is the connection between the chef, the craft, and the person across the counter.”

The Sounds of Tezukuri

Alongside the counter is a hidden speakeasy listening bar, concealed behind an unassuming doorway, where textured wood and soft light come alive with the hum of vinyl. The bar offers an exceptional bar program, with specialty cocktails taking centre stage.

The concept is now open on the ground floor of The Courtyard, next to Opera Grand, Downtown Dubai.
