One of the most acclaimed names in Japanese fine dining in Dubai’s dining circuit, TakaHisa, is embarking on a new journey this weekend – a brand new venue in the heart of Downtown Dubai. TakaHisa Downtown officially opens doors on Saturday 13 December, and will be located on the 4th floor of Volante 1, one of Dubai’s most prestigious residential towers.
The views speak the glittering skyline of Downtown Dubai, the dazzling Burj Khalifa and the waters of the Dubai Canal. This is an intimate, exclusive setting, reflecting the promise it offers on the dining experience – the space is opening strictly with reservations only.
Each corner of the restaurant has been thoughtfully crafted to balance Japanese minimalism with Dubai’s love for understated luxury. Inside, guests will find warm, textural interiors with comfortable seating and an intimate bar designed in natural tones. Outside, the experience opens onto a beautifully appointed lounge area, one of the restaurant’s defining highlights, featuring a firepit set within a water-framed terrace that looks directly onto the city’s skyline – perfect for this season.
Something New
As part of its unique offering, the venue will serve an authentic Japanese breakfast, a rarity in Dubai. Guests can enjoy comforting dishes such as grilled Japanese fish, Japanese-style eggs, miso soup, and perfectly cooked rice, recreating the warm, nostalgic flavours of a traditional Japanese morning meal, all enjoyed against an extraordinary view.
And this is just the start. More unique culinary concepts will be unveiled in the days to come, all exclusive to this location, so diners, old and new, must stay on the lookout for that.
The TakaHisa Legacy
A collaboration between sushi master Takashi Namekata and wagyu specialist Hisao Ueda, TakaHisa is Dubai’s definitive destination for Japanese omakase.
