Come together, for community
Dubai has been grappling with difficult times this past month – a March that will remain etched into the memories of residents forever. Of course, for the uncertainty, but also for the certainty of a community that makes sure no one gets left behind.
During these stressful weeks, the city has come together in ways that prove and prove again the strength of unity, the togetherness and the solidarity of the people of Dubai, and one such initiative supporting our own is taking place this weekend.
Behind the Counter, a community event put together by The Uncommon Club, in collaboration with Nike Running, is inviting Dubai folks, to move through the city on an 8KM café crawl this. This is a run club a little bit different from the others – featuring three stops, three homegrown businesses to show up to, and a morning designed to bring people together. Because we truly are not alone, even if it feels like it.
The three partners are Feels, To The Moon & Back and 852 Bakery by Jun’s. The group will start at Feels, on Kite Beach, where they can sample a selection of delicious coffees – fuel for the morning. After this, the group will set off towards To The Moon & Back, where a selection of fresh pastries awaits – some replenishment halfway through. The run will end at 852 Bakery in Jun’s, Downtown Dubai, where the morning will end with hearty sandwiches and refreshing drinks.
The event will kick off from 7am and run till 9.30am. Entry is ticketed, but for a good cause. All the proceeds from the event will go to the venues participating, and Nike will match the price of every tickets with an extra, larger contribution on top.
Come out and honour the local heroes who are working hard to keep Dubai moving, even when we’re looking to stand still.
