Now open, in Alserkal Avenue
Tucked inside a converted warehouse at Alserkal Avenue, Window is a 32-seat restaurant dedicated entirely to wood-fired cooking. Created by FYTE Hospitality – the team behind Kokoro – the concept swaps sushi precision for open flames and glowing embers.
Leading the kitchen is Argentinian chef Gonzalo Platero, who spent a year refining the menu before launch. His philosophy is simple: respect the ingredient and let fire enhance, not overpower.
Every dish passes through flame in some form. Vegetables are blistered over coals, meats caramelised to deep intensity, and even cold plates carry subtle smoky notes.
The Place
The Al Quoz warehouse setting keeps things raw but warm. Corrugated metal and high ceilings meet distressed tiles, terrazzo floors and caramel leather banquettes. Counter seats face the open kitchen, where a wood-fired MAM oven from Modena glows amber from morning to night.
It’s premium-casual dining with intention: no reservations, no alcohol and just 32 seats. Window operates on a first-come, first-served basis, giving the space a relaxed, neighbourhood energy.
The Food
The menu spans cold starters, hot plates, pasta, grilled mains and desserts – seasonal produce leads, handled with minimal intervention – olive oil, sea salt and smoke doing most of the work. Of course, the meats are the highlight – steak, burgers and more.
Window is tailor-made for Al Quoz creatives, gallery visitors and anyone chasing that unmistakable wood-smoke flavour. Counter seats offer the best view of the action. With chef-driven cooking, honest pricing and fire at its core, Window brings a fresh, focused addition to Dubai’s premium-casual dining scene.
