Yesterday: Dubai’s Brand New Listening Pizzeria

Serving vinyl, vibes and Neapolitan pizza

Dubai’s ever-evolving dining scene has welcomed a fresh concept that swaps fast-paced dining for something far more considered. Now in soft opening inside Avenue Mall, Nad Al Sheba, Yesterday is a listening pizzeria that pairs wood-fired Neapolitan pizza with a carefully curated vinyl soundtrack.

In a city known for high-energy venues and headline-grabbing openings, Yesterday takes a different route, inviting diners to slow down, settle in and savour both the food and the atmosphere.

At the heart of Yesterday is its music-first philosophy. A vinyl record player and proper speakers set the tone, spinning a steady selection of classic tracks that shape the overall experience. Rather than background noise, the music becomes part of the meal, encouraging guests to linger a little longer.

The space mirrors this laid-back ethos. Expect clean, understated interiors with wooden floors, simple furnishings and crisp white tabletops. A traditional brick oven anchors the room, adding warmth while turning out freshly made pizzas.

The menu at Yesterday is intentionally concise, focusing on quality over quantity. Starters are limited to just a couple of options, including crowd-pleasers like burrata and focaccia, before moving on to a tight selection of pizzas.

Classic and indulgent choices sit side by side, with Margherita, Spicy Salami, Burrata and Truffle Stracciatella all making the cut. It’s a line-up designed to deliver bold flavours without overcomplicating things, perfectly in tune with the restaurant’s stripped-back approach.

While many new openings in Dubai lean into spectacle, Yesterday stands out by doing the opposite. It’s intimate, thoughtful and refreshingly low-key, offering a neighbourhood-style spot where the focus is firmly on good food, good music and good company.

Yesterday is proof that sometimes the simplest ideas—pizza, music and a relaxed setting—can feel the most exciting.
