Your next neighbourhood haunt
A new neighbourhood favourite has landed in Dar Al Wasl. OTHER, a contemporary, design-led dining concept, has officially opened its doors, offering a space that moves seamlessly from daytime coffee culture to relaxed evening dining.
By day, OTHER is all about slow mornings and easy afternoons. Expect pastries, specialty coffee and crafted mocktails served in a bright, welcoming setting designed for lingering. As the sun goes down, the mood shifts. The space transitions into an evening dining destination with fluid, seasonal menus and a focus on sharing.
The food leans intuitive and produce-led, with signature dishes including Spicy Beef Tenderloin, a playful Hotdog & Caviar Sandwich and the OTHER Wagyu Beef Burger – elevated comfort food without the fuss.

OTHER is the latest concept from The Food District, the homegrown group behind Origami, Moon Slice and DROP. True to form, design plays a central role. Created by interior studio VERHAAL, the space balances bold colour moments with soft textures and tactile materials.
The result is an interior that evolves with the day: open and light-filled in the morning, then warmer and more atmospheric by night. It’s expressive without being overdone, and intentionally designed to feel lived-in rather than staged.
The name says it all. OTHER is familiar, but not quite like anything else. It plays with contrast – casual yet considered, simple but detailed – creating a place that feels effortless while still feeling special.

Founder of The Food District, Mahmood Al Khamis, explains: “With OTHER, we wanted to build a place that feels good the moment you step in — not overly complicated, not trying too hard, just honest food and a space people enjoy being in.”
Now officially open, OTHER will be rolling out soft-launch previews, first looks and community-focused moments in the coming weeks, cementing its place as a go-to neighbourhood hangout.
If you’re after a new everyday spot that nails the balance between design, comfort and good food, this one’s worth putting on your radar.
