Dubai’s hospitality scene is packed with ambitious new openings, but behind every venue is a story. For Bondz founder Ashish Agrawal, that story began long before the DIFC venue opened its doors.
After spending nearly two decades in Dubai’s banking sector, Agrawal left the corporate world to pursue entrepreneurship in 2016, driven by a belief that business should create meaningful experiences rather than simply generate profit.
The move wasn’t without challenges. Financial risks, difficult decisions and early setbacks became part of the journey, but Agrawal says those experiences helped shape his approach to leadership and business.
Bondz is rooted in a simple philosophy: Come, Relax, Bond. Inspired by his own appreciation for unwinding after a busy day, Agrawal wanted to create a venue where guests come for more than just dinner or drinks.
Instead, the concept combines premium food, handcrafted cocktails, live entertainment and carefully considered interiors to deliver an experience that feels complete. From the lighting and music to the service, every detail has been designed to encourage guests to slow down, celebrate and spend quality time together.
“I want every visit to feel like a celebration,” Agrawal says, adding that his goal is for guests to leave happier than when they arrived and already planning their next visit.
Agrawal describes his leadership style as hands-on, believing that he should never ask his team to do something he wouldn’t do himself. Honesty, consistency, quality and putting guests first remain at the heart of every decision, even as Bondz looks towards future expansion across the UAE.
While growth is firmly on the agenda, he insists it will never come at the expense of quality.
For Agrawal, success isn’t measured solely by numbers. Instead, it’s about enjoying what you do while creating memorable experiences for others.
With Bondz now established in DIFC, his focus remains on building a venue that people don’t simply visit once, but return to time and again—a fitting ambition in one of Dubai’s most competitive dining destinations.
