Celebrating Women The Emirati Way at Cherryhouse

Cherryhouse is celebrating Emirati Women’s Month with a new limited-edition menu created in collaboration with Emirati chef and culinary creator Hessa Aljassmi.

Available for dine-in from August 28 to September 28, the collaboration marks Cherryhouse’s first culinary partnership, bringing familiar UAE flavours into the homegrown roastery and bakery’s modern bread and pastry offering.

The four-dish collection puts local ingredients centre stage, including Khalas dates from Liwa, Sabaa Sanabel flour from Mleiha Farm in Sharjah, Emirati ghee from Al Marmoom, plus cardamom, cumin and nigella.

Highlights include the Salted Sesame Butter, a richer take on tahini made with praline and toasted sesame, served with the Khalas Date Loaf. The Khalas Date Loaf combines Liwa dates with locally grown flour, balancing natural date sweetness with the gentle acidity of sourdough.

Then there’s the star of the collection, the Date Cardamom Basket. Shaped like a woven basket-style croissant, the pastry is filled with Khalas dates and cardamom, brushed with date molasses and topped with caramelised pecans. Its design takes inspiration from safafa, the traditional Emirati craft of palm weaving.

For something savoury, the Spiced Cheese is a laminated pastry filled with cheese and cumin, brushed with Emirati ghee and finished with nigella seeds.

The collaboration is also designed to spotlight Emirati women working across the culinary and hospitality industries, from chefs and creators to founders and front-of-house teams. Cherryhouse founder Mohamed Al Falasi says the partnership reflects the brand’s focus on craft, quality and creating food with a strong connection to home.
