Play, stay and slurp
Folks, take note – we’re swapping the usual dinner plans for something a little more playful.
On September 15, nom:me is teaming up with Soul Kitchen, Ugly Noodles and 1004 Gourmet for ASIAMAXXXING, a one-night-only mahjong experience bringing together Asian-inspired food, drinks and a few rounds of friendly competition.
Never played mahjong before? No problem. The evening is designed to be beginner-friendly, so whether you know your bamboo from your dragons or have absolutely no idea what you’re doing, you can pull up a chair and join in. There will be three sittings at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm, with just 20 guests per slot.

Naturally, we’re making sure there’s plenty to eat between rounds.
The three-course menu kicks off with Szechuan-style Ceviche, pairing shimaji fish with Curious Elephant’s Szechuan chilli sauce, lime, black vinegar, soy sauce, cancha corn and coriander cress.
For the main event, Short Rib Birria Belt Noodles brings together Ugly Noodles’ signature belt noodles and Soul Kitchen’s 36-hour braised beef short rib birria. Dessert takes a cooler turn with Mango Bingsu, made with shaved ice, Thai mango, coconut cream, mango foam and Tajín.

There’ll be Saicho bottles alongside Soul Kitchen cocktails and mocktails made with Yinli tea, available to purchase separately. Think of them as the perfect accompaniment to celebrating a winning hand – or recovering from a particularly questionable move.
So, gather your friends, come hungry and prepare to pick up the tiles. ASIAMAXXXING takes place for one night only on September 15 at Soul Kitchen.
