Slow down, switch off
If your idea of downtime usually involves scrolling through your phone, CASSETTE has a different suggestion. This August, the Al Quoz café is inviting Dubai residents to slow down, switch off and get creative with Offline at CASSETTE, a new daily experience designed around art, food and a little screen-free escapism.
Running throughout August from 8am to 6pm, the experience encourages guests to swap notifications for paintbrushes while settling in for coffee, breakfast or lunch. Whether you are an experienced artist or someone who has not picked up a paintbrush since school, all are welcome to join in.
CASSETTE will provide everything needed to get started, including colouring templates, paints, palettes and art materials, so there is no need to arrive armed with an art kit. Simply grab a seat, order something from the menu and let the creative juices flow.
The experience pairs neatly with CASSETTE’s French-inspired daytime menu. Morning visitors can tuck into the Pain Perdu du Matin, made with caramelised brioche, strawberries and vanilla crème, or opt for potato rösti topped with smoked salmon. For lunch, there’s the French Dip Sandwich or Roast Baby Chicken “Grand-Mère”, alongside coffee and refreshing drinks.
Designed for solo coffee breaks, catch-ups with friends or a leisurely creative afternoon, Offline at CASSETTE is all about taking things at a slower pace. And in a city where being constantly connected can feel like the norm, a couple of hours spent painting over coffee sounds like a pretty good way to press pause.
