New slices in Jumeirah
Jumeirah 2 has a new spot for pizza nights. Keanu’s Neighbourhood Pizzeria, from the team behind Three by Eva, has opened in the villa next door, bringing wood-fired, long-fermented sourdough pizzas, sharing plates and a laid-back evening atmosphere to the neighbourhood.
Led by restaurateur Lilian Rihani, the new concept keeps things casual, with no reservations required. Whether you’re meeting friends, heading out for a spontaneous dinner or simply craving a slice, the idea is to make it easy to drop by and feel at home.
Back To The Basics
At the heart of Keanu’s is long-fermented sourdough, made with a focus on the basics: flour, water and salt. The idea reportedly came about after service at Three by Eva, when Emilie’s three-day-fermented dough inspired Lilian to put a record on and experiment with a new pizzeria concept.
The result is a neighbourhood hangout with a shorter menu and a different pace from its sister restaurant. Pizzas are made to order in a wood-fired oven, with a selection that balances familiar favourites with more unusual combinations.
La Clandestina is a signature marinara topped with San Marzano tomato sauce, rose petals and a sprinkling of what the team calls ‘black stardust’. Polpetta Romana combines parmigiana-inspired flavours with meatballs, while Hot Alibi brings the heat with spicy spianata.
There’s more than pizza on the menu, too. Expect cheese garlic bread, burrata, daily bruschetta specials, plus cheese and charcuterie boards made for sharing. It’s the kind of line-up designed for ordering a few dishes for the table rather than sticking to one main course.
Soft Serve and Late-Night Tunes
Save room for dessert, with tiramisu and soft serve in two unexpected flavours: dirty martini and sourdough bread. The dirty martini version is alcohol-free, offering a playful twist on the classic cocktail, while the sourdough option continues the restaurant’s focus on its signature ingredient.
Music also has a place in the mix, with up-and-coming young DJs set to play on selected nights. Rather than a nightly party, the idea is to give the neighbourhood pizzeria an occasional soundtrack while keeping the focus on good food and easy-going evenings.
The concept builds on the family business behind Three by Eva, founded by Eva Halasa and her daughters, Emilie and Lilian. Drawing on the family’s Jordanian roots and shared love of cooking, the neighbouring venues offer two different ways to spend an evening, from a sit-down meal to a more spontaneous pizza stop.
