Sobremesa x House of Habanero Bring the Heat for One Night Only

Weekend plans, sorted

Sobremesa, resto-bar located serving a mix of Spanish and Mexican comfort classics and one of Dubai’s newer openings, is teaming up with House of Habanero for a one-night-only supper club that promises flavour, fire and a lively community atmosphere. Taking place on Friday 24 April at Souk Al Bahar, the experience blends Mexican-inspired dishes with inventive hot sauce pairings and free-flowing drinks.

Designed by Chef Marco Ferreira, the five-course menu leans into vibrant, punchy flavours without overwhelming diners with spice. Expect plates like tuna tostada with salsa macha, mango habanero chicken wings, tiger prawn tempura tacos and sliced ribeye tacos with roasted avocado salsa. Dessert keeps things playful with a mango pannacotta finished with chamoy.

Each dish is paired with a curated line-up of hot sauces sourced globally, from smoky chipotle blends to fruit-forward and coffee-infused creations. The aim? To highlight complexity and depth rather than sheer heat.

Drinks are just as considered. Guests can enjoy an unlimited selection of three cocktails or mocktails, crafted specifically for the evening. One standout is the Slavic Plum Gimlet, which blends tangy notes with a subtle chilli edge. The drinks programme mirrors the food philosophy – balanced, expressive and accessible.

This isn’t your typical seated supper. The experience is designed to be interactive and social, bringing together a community of spice enthusiasts and curious diners. The emphasis is as much on connection as it is on cuisine, with a relaxed yet high-energy setting encouraging conversation and discovery.

Faisal Al Mutairi, founder of House of Habanero, describes the event as the beginning of a wider concept focused on sauce-pairing supper clubs. “We’ve long wanted to collaborate with chefs across the UAE on this idea, and Sobremesa felt like the perfect place to start,” he says.

With limited availability, this one-off event is set to draw a crowd. For those looking to try something different – or simply turn up the heat on their Friday night, this is the place to be.
