Discover 2026 in food
The 50 Best Restaurants 2026 ranking has been revealed, and Asador Etxebarri in Spain has bagged the crown with the N0.1 position. Announced at a ceremony in Lima, Peru, on Wednesday 4 November, this year’s list celebrates restaurants across the globe, with Dubai also making its mark through two entries in the top 100.

Taking over the top spot, Asador Etxebarri is located in the Spanish Basque Country, between Bilbao and San Sebastián. Led by Chef Bittor Arginzoniz, the restaurant is known for its approach to cooking over an open wood fire, carefully matching different types of wood with the ingredients being grilled. The restaurant climbed from No.2 in 2025 to claim the world’s best restaurant title this year.

Bangkok’s Gaggan by Chef Gaggan Anand takes second place, followed by Copenhagen’s Alchemist at No.3 and Mexico City’s Quintonil at No.4. Hong Kong restaurants Wing and The Chairman also make the top six, at No.5 and No.6 respectively. Gaggan is also named Asia’s Best Restaurant, while Alchemist is known for its theatrical dining experience.
Around The World
New York’s Atomix lands at No.11 and is named Best Restaurant in North America, while Chef Junghyun Park also receives the Chef’s Choice Award. Other notable entries include Paris’s Plénitude at No.10, Madrid’s Diverxo at No.9 and Copenhagen’s Kadeau at No.8.

Lima enjoys a strong showing, with Kjolle at No.7, Sorn at No.12 and Mérito at No.13. Singapore’s Odette comes in at No.15, Seoul’s Mingles at No.17 and Munich’s Jan at No.19.
Further down the ranking, Mumbai’s Masque takes No.26, while Dubai’s Trèsind Studio secures an impressive No.28 position, making it one of the highest-ranked restaurants in the UAE.

Dubai’s Winners
Beyond Trèsind Studio’s No.28 position, Dubai has another reason to celebrate. FZN has entered The 50 Best Restaurants 51-100 list at No.88, making it one of nine new entries in this year’s extended ranking.
The list, announced on 21 October ahead of the main awards ceremony, features restaurants across 25 territories and 36 cities on six continents. It includes 17 restaurants from Asia, 20 from Europe, six from North America, three from South America and two each from Africa and the Middle East.

FZN joins Egypt’s Khufu’s, which takes No.97, as one of the Middle East’s two new entries. Khufu’s is located in Giza and was previously recognised with the Resy One To Watch Award at The 50 Best Restaurants 2025.
Shanghai’s Ling Long leads the new entries at No.53, while Singapore’s Seroja comes in at No.64 and Seoul’s Eatanic Garden at No.72. Other newcomers include São Paulo’s Nelita at No.54, Bangkok’s Baan Tepa at No.90 and Beijing’s Lamdre at No.92.

The extended list also brings several established names back into focus. London’s The Ledbury returns at No.83, making its first appearance on the 51-100 ranking since 2019. In Cape Town, Fyn and Salsify at the Roundhouse both climb 17 places, landing at No.65 and No.71 respectively. Elsewhere, Singapore’s Burnt Ends is ranked No.89, while Tokyo’s Den appears at No.91.

From the open-fire cooking of Spain to Bangkok’s inventive dining scene and the contemporary restaurants shaping Asia’s culinary landscape, this year’s ranking offers a snapshot of the talent driving the global food scene forward. For Dubai, having both Trèsind Studio and FZN recognised among the world’s top 100 is another exciting milestone, putting the city’s ambitious dining scene firmly in the international spotlight.
