Biting into Dubai’s newest obsession
Whether you’re loyal to a classic cream cheese schmear, swear by smoked salmon, or prefer your bagel stacked sky-high with fillings, Dubai has quietly become home to some seriously good bagel spots. From authentic Montreal-style bagels baked the traditional way to New York-inspired delis serving hefty breakfast sandwiches, these are the places proving that the humble bagel is rightly deserving of all the recent attention it’s been getting.
Bagel & Co
If you’re after a proper New York-style bagel without the fuss, Bagel & Co delivers exactly that. Located in DIFC’s Gate Avenue South Foodhall, the homegrown concept keeps things refreshingly simple: freshly baked, kettle-boiled bagels, generous fillings and excellent coffee. Designed for busy professionals grabbing breakfast or a quick lunch, it’s all about consistency rather than gimmicks. From a straightforward cream cheese bagel to loaded breakfast favourites, every order is made to satisfy without overcomplicating a classic. The breakfast bagel paired with a specialty coffee is an easy favourite.
Bagel Yard
Long before Dubai’s bagel scene began booming, Bagel Yard was quietly perfecting the art of authentic Montreal-style bagels. Inspired by the legendary bakeries of Montreal, the founders travelled to Canada to train with veteran bagel makers before spending months adapting traditional techniques to Dubai’s climate. Every bagel is still hand-rolled, simmered in honey water and baked for that signature lightly sweet flavour, crisp exterior and satisfyingly chewy centre. It’s a labour of love that has earned the café a loyal following since opening in 2018, with the smoked salmon bagel remaining one of its standout orders.
Dalia Bagel Bar + Coffee
Created by the team behind Dubai favourite Pull Me Pizzeria, Dalia Bagel Bar + Coffee brings a fresh, modern take on the New York neighbourhood café. Located in JVC, the minimalist spot focuses on freshly baked artisan bagels filled with quality ingredients rather than an overwhelming menu. Expect breakfast classics, indulgent signature creations and vegetarian-friendly options, all paired with specialty coffee in a relaxed, grab-and-go setting that feels effortlessly cool. The egg and cheese breakfast bagel is a great place to start.
Rascals
Although it’s best known for its inventive sandwiches, Rascals deserves a place on every bagel lover’s radar. After building a cult following through pop-ups across Dubai, the homegrown concept established a permanent home where fresh ingredients, homemade sauces and speciality coffee take centre stage. Alongside its famous sandos, you’ll find standout breakfast options and expertly crafted comfort food that perfectly complements its laid-back atmosphere. Order the Morning Glory with a coffee and one of the homemade cookies for the full experience.
Sunny Park Deli
For an authentic New York deli experience without the airfare, Sunny Park Deli has you covered. Operating from its cosy Al Sufouh food truck, the spot serves generously filled bagels, deli sandwiches and fully customisable creations that have built a loyal fanbase. You can choose everything from your bagel and spreads to premium add-ons, while colourful specials like the Rainbow Bagel sit alongside classics such as smoked salmon and tuna salad. If you can’t decide, build your own bagel or opt for the smoked salmon special.
