Blue Elephant x Pai Thai: Thai Favourites Unite

Save the dates

If Thai food is your love language, clear your diary. Pai Thai at Jumeirah Al Qasr is joining forces with Blue Elephant founder Master Chef Nooror Somany Steppe for two nights of four-hands dining this October.

On October 16 and 17, Chef Nooror will join Pai Thai Head Chef Amara Mahayothee for a limited-edition menu celebrating the flavours, stories and traditions of Thai cuisine. Expect three and five-course menus packed with dishes from both restaurants, with plenty to get excited about.

Highlights include the ‘Naam Dokmai’ green mango and lobster salad, made with mango from Chef Nooror’s native province, an organic green chicken curry with Thai sweet basil and kaffir lime leaves, and ribeye served with Blue Elephant Black Diamond garlic, GI pepper and a hint of truffle.

The Story Behind The Plate

This isn’t just a case of chefs putting their heads together and calling it dinner. The menus dig into Thai culinary heritage, too.

The jumbo river prawn tom yum recreates a traditional version served during the reign of King Rama V in the late 19th century. Meanwhile, dessert gets a Dubai-meets-Thailand makeover, with a date cake combining Emirati dates, Thai mung bean and jasmine essence, inspired by a recipe from Chef Nooror’s late mother.

It’s a menu that brings together personal recipes, historic dishes and Thai cooking techniques, with a distinctly Dubai setting at Jumeirah Al Qasr.

Fancy Becoming The Chef?

On Saturday 17 October, aspiring home cooks can swap the dining table for the kitchen during a hands-on Thai masterclass.

The chefs will teach guests how to make four Thai favourites: Yam Som O, Chor Muang, Gaeng Phed Goong and Khao Niew Ma Muang, sharing the techniques and cultural stories behind each dish before sitting down to a three-course lunch.
