Find sun and sea in the Thai city
Pattaya has a reputation, and honestly? It knows it – loud, neon-lit, and a little bit unserious in the best possible way. This Thai beach city is not the place for a quiet wellness reset. It is, however, the place for excellent massages, late-night snacks, beach clubs, Korean BBQ, 7-Eleven toasties, and the kind of weekend stories that only make sense once you have lived them.

Day 1
Morning
If you’re braving Pattaya, the biggest recommendation to make is to pick a central hotel. For this, you’ll want to choose Siam@Siam Boutique Hotel. The hotel is a playful, design-led stay right around the corner from Pattaya Beach and the city centre. Known for its creative interiors and double-decker pool situation, Siam@Siam is a strong base if you want to be close to the action without staying directly in the madness.
Once you’ve dropped your bags, start the trip properly with an iconic Thai quick food: the 7-Eleven ham and cheese sandwich. Toasted, melty, and weirdly perfect, it is an essential Pattaya rite of passage, and enjoying it before a night out makes the sandwich experience after a night out all the more impressive.

In Pattaya, we eat. After your quick snack, head to Green Tree Pub and Restaurant on Beach Road. It is casual, beachside, and ideal for that first ‘we’ve arrived’ meal – gorgeous beach views, hidden beneath beautiful trees. Order the ‘Your choice with Basil’ and ask for extra spicy with a fried egg on top, it’s especially good with chicken. Their Pineapple Rice is also one to write home about.
Afternoon
Spend the afternoon, a short walk down the road, at Lay Beach Club. The brief is simple: swim, tan, order the Coconut Sorbet with an ice-cold drink, repeat. Pattaya is not the kind of place where you need to over-plan every hour, so give yourself time to sit by the sea and let the holiday mood kick in.

Evening
By sunset, make your way back towards the hotel before getting ready for the night out and stop at The Marina Night Market for snacks, shopping, and a bit of low-stakes wandering. There are often live bands playing to0 – bring a pack of Uno cards, grab a pad Thai or fried fish, and enjoy the easy energy. If you’re still feeling up to a not-so-light snack – order a banana and chocolate roti with Ovaltine and condensed milk. Calories that are consumed in Pattaya stay in Pattaya.

Next, make your way on a Baht truck to Walking Street – they will try and upsell, a Baht truck only costs 20 Baht, don’t let them tell you any different. Yes, it’s touristy. Yes, it is chaotic. Yes, you should go anyway. Grab a drink at Frog’s Land and commit fully to the experience: neon lights, loud music, and the kind of people-watching you cannot manufacture anywhere else. Frog Land is a known Walking Street stop. It’s got a range of bars to choose from. Pick your drink and grab a seat right up front for optimum people watching. Then, let the night fall where it may.

Day 2
Morning
After a hopefully chaotic night on Walking Street, take the morning slow. Wander up the road from the hotel to Terminal 21, the mall only opens at 10am, so you’re free to sleep in. The coffee shop you’re going to want to stop in at is called After You. Make sure you order their Shibuya honey toast. Order a large one – you won’t regret it. The bread is soft and airy, the sauce is indulgent, and it’s the perfect cure after a late night. For the drinks, the es-yen was described as a ‘Thai coffee.’ Whatever is in that drink, it’s addictive, and you’ll want to go back for more.

Then carve out time for a full body massage. Ginn or Kumo are the ones to keep on your list, especially if your body is still recovering from flights, beach clubs or Walking Street decisions. Do the proper hour-long version, with aroma oil (that’s our preference). Do not rush it. Your body will thank you later.

Afternoon
Choose an afternoon session at The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary – you’ll have to book in advance – but it will be the most rewarding activity. The experience offers a meaningful way to spend time with Thailand’s gentle giants. The focus is on feeding, observing, and learning about the elephants in a no-riding environment. It is one of those rare Pattaya moments that feels calm, grounding, and genuinely memorable. Learn how to make vitamin balls, elephant dung paper, and enjoy a magical afternoon splashing around in muddy water with the gorgeous creatures.

Late lunch can only be at one place – Trattoria Pizzeria Toscana Pattaya, a long-standing Italian spot on Beach Road known for classic Italian dishes, pizza and a relaxed trattoria feel. It is a good reset meal when you need carbs, comfort and a break from the chaos. The staff are Italian, and the restaurant is cosy and chic. While pizza is in the name, their pasta dishes change the game. Their pasta is so good that we never leave Pattaya without going twice. The go-to options? A classic aglio e olio or veal ragù. Finish your dinner off there with Tiramisu.

Evening
End the trip with one last 7-Eleven snack run (ham and cheese toasties, a big slurp, and grab some random crisps). Bask in the acceptance that Pattaya is not polished, subtle, or particularly calm. You’ll be guaranteed 48 hours of fun, food, and questionable decisions. But that is exactly why it works.
