Inside BUON Gelato Atelier, Dubai’s New Gelato Concept

Sweet treats with a side of chic

Dubai’s dessert scene has never been short on elevated pickings, but a new luxury gelato concept is taking things in an entirely different direction. Enter BUON Gelato Atelier, the artisanal ice cream brand operating across Dubai and Abu Dhabi that’s treating every scoop like a curated work of art.

Forget rainbow sprinkles and playful mascots. BUON Gelato Atelier leans into minimalist luxury, cinematic visuals and flavour collections inspired by memory, travel and emotion. The result feels closer to a fashion campaign or contemporary gallery concept than a traditional gelateria.

At the centre of the brand is gelato in its purest form: slow-churned, handcrafted and produced in small, limited batches using premium ingredients sourced from around the world. Seasonal menus and rare specials keep the offering intentionally exclusive, with flavours designed to evoke a place, a date or even a specific mood.

Rather than simply listing classic flavours, BUON creates conceptual titles that sound more like indie films or luxury fragrances. Think Bourbon Voyage, Piano Lesson, Spill the Tea and Sweater Weather.

Each flavour is paired with rich sensory storytelling. One menu item may combine Swiss white chocolate with Amazonian tonka bean to evoke nostalgia and warmth, while another draws on Piedmont hazelnuts and smoky notes to create something moodier and more indulgent.

The brand describes every tube as a memory capsule designed to ‘capture a place, a date, and a scene’ before customers even take their first bite. It’s a level of narrative detail rarely seen in the UAE’s dessert market.

BUON’s aesthetic direction is also a deliberate rejection of the loud, playful identity commonly associated with ice cream brands. Instead, the visual language borrows heavily from luxury retail and editorial fashion, with sleek packaging, muted palettes and highly stylised imagery.

In a city where experiential dining continues to dominate, BUON Gelato Atelier taps directly into Dubai’s appetite for concepts that are as visually driven as they are flavour-focused.

The brand is currently serving customers across Dubai and Abu Dhabi on their website, as well as across Deliveroo, Talabat, Careem, Keeta and Noon, positioning itself as less of a dessert stop and more of an immersive sensory experience served cold.
