Savour the art of dining
Dubai’s Uptown district is getting a new Italian dining destination, with Rocambolesco set to open on September 25. Located at SO/ Uptown Dubai, the two-storey restaurant promises a playful take on Italian dining, combining traditional flavours with creative twists, lively design and plenty of room for convivial gatherings.
The concept takes its name from Rocambole, a character associated with daring, imagination and adventure, which is reflected in the restaurant’s anything-but-ordinary approach. Built around convivialità – the pleasure of being together around the table, this addition to the Uptown District’s collection of restaurants is designed to enjoy the finer things in life at a slower pace than most.
All the elements come together to create a place made for sharing, no matter the occasion.
The Menu
The menu sticks to Italian roots while giving familiar dishes a more inventive spin, while the drinks menu follows the same playful philosophy, with creative cocktails inspired by familiar Italian drinking rituals.
Expect the Rocambolesco Parmigiana, a playful take on the classic baked aubergine dish finished with scamorza fondue, alongside the “C’era Una Volta” pizza topped with beetroot and gorgonzola.There are also Heritage Meatballs, slow-cooked in tomato sauce with pecorino fondue and finished with a touch of charcoal theatrics at the table.

The kitchen is overseen by MICEHLIN-starred Chef Luigi Stinga, who serves as Culinary Consultant, alongside Executive Chef Alessandro Mirabelli. Together, they focus on simplicity, seasonality and considered execution while bringing a contemporary edge to Italian cooking.
Injecting Imagination
Rocambolesco is designed to shift gears throughout the day.
The ground floor will be open for lunch and dinner, offering a bright, relaxed and family-friendly setting for everything from casual lunches to shared dinners and aperitivo. Upstairs, the mood becomes more intimate, with live piano, music and entertainment creating a livelier late-night atmosphere.
Steeped in colours and the joy they bring, Rocambolesco brings a certain kind of character to your experience. Bold art that imitates life, abstract cutlery, striped cushions and olive green upholstery – it’s a space to celebrate.
